My brother has an FD with original rotary at 75k miles, and the car runs like new. Stored for 5 months over winter, and started the very first time he tried it. Smooth idle, and plenty of smooth power. Granted, I think his was VERY well taken care of because it's still mint at 75k miles, but regardless, the engines CAN last if properly maintained and properly modded. I think they have such a bad name because alot of people buy them and assume they're just like piston engines and start throwing mods on them, and you can't do that. You have to do certain "safety" mods first and be very careful with everything you do. Ping, and bye bye engine.
